HOW TO GET RID OF RACCOONS

There's only one surefire way to get rid of raccoons and it probably will work in getting rid other wildlife that is hanging around your home. Read and find out how you can try other ways aside from a Toronto Raccoon Removal Service:
  • ·        Inspect the areas around your home and clean up all the garbage, paper, food, berries that fell from trees.
  • ·        Buy metal garbage cans with lids that stay tight and stay attached.
  • ·        Use a lid securing device such as Raccoon Green Bin Solution.
  • ·        Put heavy weights on the lids in these trash cans where there is garbage, food or water.
  • ·        Keep the cans smell clean by washing them out with the hose every so often. Tip them upside down so they don't store water for mosquitoes or for raccoons to drink.
  • ·        Always place garbage inside the cans and replace lids immediately.
  • ·        Ensure that any picnic tables and chairs do not have even a crumb on them when you retire for the night.
  • ·        Store the trash cans indoors or in the garage or somewhere inside if you are gone for a long time or if you see animals around in the neighborhood.
  • ·        Always double the plastic bag if you have meat or very tempting food in the trash before throwing it away in the cans.
  • ·        Raccoons need shelter. If you discover evidence of a nest in your attic or a sheltered area around your home, you can try making the nest area inhospitable by placing bright lights, noise and ammonia-scented rags in order to make the raccoons feel insecure.

DO-IT-YOURSELF METHODS IN GETTING RID OF COCKROACHES

Cockroaches are nothing but nasty, dirty creatures. Nobody wants to dwell with cockroaches. Here are some widely used methods for pest removal in Toronto:

DUSTS
  • Dusts comprise boric acid, diatomaceous earth, and silica gel, all available at hardware and home improvement suppliers.
  • Keep kids and pets away, and use protection goggles when you’re putting on dusts.
  • Load a bulb rag or squeeze bottle (like empty dish soap bottle) with boric acid, diatomaceous earth, or silica gel.
  • Put on dust into cracks and holesand under and behind bigappliances and cabinets or whereverroaches are active.
  • Put only a thin layer. Cockroaches avoid big masses. Afterward, seal up splits, fissures and holes with spackle.
  • Don’t worry if you still see roaches after putting on dusts. They can take a number of days or weeks to effect.

GEL BAIT
  • Baits do not destroy cockroaches right away but nevertheless are very effective. Pests eat them and die gradually when they go back to their shelter. Other cockroaches in the nest also die when they eat the remains of cockroaches that ate the bait.
  • Squeeze pea-sized drops of gel every 12 inches or so along splits, cabinet shelves, and baseboards. Reapply after it gets consumed.
  • Inset gels into fissures and holes before closing them up.

BAIT STATION
  • Take off the sticky tape on the bottom of the bait station or trap before putting it to a surface.
  • Place the bait or sticky trap where roaches travel – along edges, corners, inside, under, and behind cabinets, appliances, and basins.
  • Replace bait stations every 60 or 90 days. Replace traps every 2 weeks or more often if the trap is filled fast.

MATRIMONIAL HOMES AFTER DIVORCE

There are rules respecting the division of property upon the dissolution of a marriage. Of all the property which married couples have, it is the matrimonial home which is treated in a most unique manner. The matrimonial home may be a home which one of the parties owned prior to marriage. It may also be a home which the parties purchased together after the date of their marriage. A couple may actually have more than one matrimonial home.

As in the case of other property, if a couple has only lived together as common-law spouses, but were never married, the Divorce Laws respecting the division of property, including the matrimonial home do not apply.

In the case of married couples, however, regardless of which spouse's name appears on the title as the owner, both of the spouses have an equal right to the possession of the matrimonial home.
Although both parties, regardless of whose name appears on title have an equal right to the possession of the matrimonial home while they are still married.

In cases where both parties cannot agree as to who will stay in the matrimonial home after divorce, divorce lawyers in Montreal can help them come up to an order or agreement as to whose spouse will have the exclusive possession and use of matrimonial home.

In granting or rejecting said order or agreement, the Court must regard to several factors, including but not limited to the conduct of the parties.  It must be provided that Court decision shall always be for the best interest of the children.

Generally, the person who has custody of the children is to whom the matrimonial home is awarded. This helps children adjust to their new family situation in a place and neighborhood that they already know.

LYME DISEASE

Lyme disease is caused by a germ not transmitted from one person to another but through a tick bite specifically called a deer tick.

Deer ticks are very small and flat about the size much tinier of the head than that of the regular dog tick. Tick must be attached to the body for at least 24 hours before they can pass on the Lyme disease. But not all tick bites caused such disease. When tick clings to your body as host, it will swell up from the blood it sucked.

SYMPTOMS

Symptoms of Lyme disease are noticeable within 3 to 32 days after a tick bite. When you have Lyme disease you will acquire rashes where you were bitten. The little red round rashes can spread up to three or more inches across.

Other symptoms also include headache, fever, weary, arthritic neck, joint pain and inflamed lymph nodes. Taking these symptoms for granted may affect the heart and central nervous system after several weeks.

PREVENTION

Avoiding tick bites means avoiding Lyme disease. Avoid tall grass areas where ticks are possibly present. Take note that ticks are most common in summer and spring.

Do bodily inspection. Include hairlines in the hair and ears. Also check under the arms and groin. It can become carrier of ticks too.

Dress accordingly when visiting possible tick-infected areas. Wear long pants and long sleeved along with wide brimmed hats. Tuck socks and shirt into pants since ticks crawl upwards. Light colored clothes will help detect ticks immediately.

Use bug spray containing not less than 30% DEET. Apply to clothing where it overlaps or has an opening. Apply across shoulders down the outside of arms and around the brim of hat. Follow directions on the spray bottle. Do not spray near your eyes and make sure it’s safe for your kids.

It is also recommended that if ticks are widely spread and seem uncontrollable Toronto exterminators will be able to assist you in applying the precise pesticides with the exact amount for you to be safe from Lyme disease.

Finding A Local Plumber

Running into problems with a leaky faucet? Are your drains running slowly? Do you need to have a new shower installed? If so, you may need the services of local plumbers.Toronto has many well qualified plumbers available. The trick is finding one you can work with. Here are a few ways to find a locally located plumber.

One of the best ways is through word of mouth. Often people who have been satisfied with the workmanship of a plumber who did a job for them are happy to let others know about this person. Usually a referral like this will be for a plumbing company which is local. You may get faster service if they are located close by, especially if there is an emergency.

You could also check Yellow Pages listings to find a plumber who is located in your vicinity. Although you can’t tell much about a company through an ad, at least it’s a good sign that the company is serious about business and so is one that is worth finding out more about.

You can also do an internet search to find a plumber. Be sure to specify your city name so only local companies with websites show up in the results. You can find out a lot about a company from its website and it’s a good idea to look at it thoroughly before calling to set up an appointment to deal with your problem.

Many plumbers try to drum up business by running ads in the classified section of the newspaper. It’s less expensive for a company compared to the Yellow Pages but still a good resource to use to locate a plumber.
