Guide to repairing open roof valley

You have already spent 2 days repairing your shakes and shingles. But when rain came, your roof is still leaking. What do you do? Well, it’s time to check open roof valleys. These parts are also very prone to damages and would definitely cause leaks. Shown below is a guide in repairing open roof valleys advised by Mississauga Roof Contractors. Should you desire to gain more information on how to resolve other roof problems, roofing Mississauga will be of great help.
1.    Meticulously check all valleys for holes and cracks along the joints.
2.    Clean the area of the valley where there is a hole or crack.
3.    Cut a sheet of metal (same kind as the metal sheet used in valley). It should be about 2 inches bigger the size of the hole or crack. Patching valleys using another type of material might cause them to corrode.
4.    Liberally spread thick coat of roofing cement on the damaged portion and firmly secure the patch into place. You may have to bend the metal patch to match the shape of the valley for best results.
5.    Cover the edges of the patch with roofing cement to ensure that water is sealed away.
We all agree to the fact that we can save a lot of money when we do any home improvement/repairs ourselves. However, if this puts us on a very high risk, then it is very much worth hiring professionals to who do roof repairs in Mississauga.
